16 members signed the charter of Fayetteville Methodist Church in the home of Lodowick Brodie. Fayetteville became a preaching point on the Washington County Preaching Circuit of the Missouri Conference. |

Arkansas Conference organized. Brodie lot on West Center Street donated for a church. |

Fayetteville district formed. |

Arkansas Annual Conference held in Fayetteville. |

First church building occupied. Fayetteville population at 420. |

Circuit name changed to the Fayetteville Circuit. |

General Conference division over slavery question resulted in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. |
