Good S.A.M.

Begun in 1988 as a way to mobilize the Central congregation to meet the needs within our church and the community at large, Good S.A.M. or “Good Samaritan Assistance Ministries” sponsors various opportunities for our church to reach out to others who are in crisis situations. In addition to providing relief for Central members who need emergency relief. Here is a brief listing of Good SAM’s programs.

  • Community Kid’s Closet – An ecumenical ministry which conducts clothing drives twice a year (spring & fall) to provide new clothes and shoes for less fortunate children in our community.
  • Christmas Families – Working with referrals from the Fayetteville Public Schools, Good SAM provides Christmas for needy and deserving families – everything from food and toiletries to toys and clothes.
  • Salvation Army Kiddie Bags – Distributed through Sunday School classes, these bags are filled with listed items to help the Salvation Army provide Christmas for hundreds of families.
  • Sack-It Sunday – A twice-a-year food drive supported by Central members to benefit CEO (see below).
